Virtual Research Fellowship Program 2022

As part of its international research collaboration, CHE will fund excellent researchers in the field, for a period of up to one month, to remotely work with members at any of the nodes of the Centre on a research program of their choice.

The Fellowship allows Fellows the opportunity to place other obligations on hold and devote themselves to full-time research, and to be part of a convivial community of researchers.

Since the object of the CHE Virtual Research Fellowship is primarily to promote collaborative research, the Fellows will not be required to undertake any undergraduate teaching, but will be required to deliver at least one seminar paper or lecture, and contribute a post to the CHE blog. The support of CHE must also be acknowledged on all research deriving from this Fellowship. Other activities can be negotiated.

The Fellowship will fund:

• A research support bursary of up to $2000 AUD;
• Fellows will also be provided with remote access to The University of Western Australia library databases.

Applicants are eligible to apply if they:

1. Hold a doctorate in a relevant field of study, gained in the period 2011–2021;
2. Not currently in an on-going academic position;
3. Currently residing outside of Perth, Western Australia.

ARC CHE is now issuing a call for applications for CHE Virtual Research Fellowship, to be taken over the period 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2022. Applicants should provide:

1. An up-to-date academic CV of no more than 6 pages. Note: applicants’ research track records will be judged relative to opportunity;
2. A description, no longer than one A4 pages, of the proposed research to be undertaken during the Fellowship, including a statement of how the research relates to the Centre's overall research into the history of emotions and the proposed outcomes of the research (e.g. draft of an article, perhaps jointly authored with one or more CHE member(s), development of further research interchange and collaborative activities, and so on). It is required that CHE support be acknowledged in any publication deriving from the Fellowship;
3. The name(s) of CHE staff with whom the applicant wishes to collaborate, and the preferred dates of the fellowship. (It is hoped that successful applicants will take the opportunity to develop research associations with members of the Centre. Applicants are encouraged to seek advice on their proposed projects from appropriate CHE personnel);
4. The names and contact details of two referees.
