Lyndal Roper is on the Advisory Board of CHE, and Regius Professor of History at the University of Oxford, the first woman and the first Australian to hold the post. She is a leading researcher in early modern German history, and a pioneer of gender history. She is a Fellow of both the Australian Academy of the Humanities and the British Academy for the Humanities and Social Sciences, and is honorary professor at The University of Melbourne. In 2016, she was awarded the Gerda Henkel Prize for her outstanding achievements in the field of Early Modern History.
