Meghan and Harry’s decision to step down from royal duties has the world’s media in a frenzy. Commentators suggest it marks the demise of the British monarchy. This talk considers 'Megxit' from the historical perspective of Henry VIII’s second queen, and finds uncanny similarities between Anne Boleyn and the Duchess of Sussex.

Meagan Nattrass is a PhD Candidate at The University of Adelaide exploring Princess Mary Tudor and the performance of loyalty, 1516–1547.
Grace Waye-Harris is a PhD student at The University of Adelaide whose research examines fashion diplomacy during the reign of Henry VIII.
