James Youd graduated with First Class Honours in English from The University of Western Australia (UWA) in 2018, under the supervision of Professor Andrew Lynch and Dr Michael Barbezat. He was awarded an Honours bursary by the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for the History of Emotions for his research on emotional responses to Chaucer’s religious parody in The Miller’s Tale and The Nun’s Priest’s Tale.
James is currently undertaking a PhD at The University of Western Australia looking at the evolution of the Australian fairy tale from the nineteenth to twenty-first centuries.
