R.A. Goodrich is an Associate Investigator (AI 2014, 2015) at Deakin University. Since gaining his doctorate from University of Melbourne in 1994, Dr R.A. Goodrich has taught in the fields of Linguistics, Creative Writing, Literary Studies, and Philosophy at Deakin University where he was Postgraduate Research (HDR) Co-ordinator for the combined Faculty of Arts and Education between 2001 and 2012.
Many of his current collaborative projects derive from his background in philosophy and linguistics, including a longitudinal study of the behavioural, cognitive, and linguistic development of higher functioning children withinthe autistic spectrum and related disorders; medical and philosophical debates over the nature of disorderly emotions since the early eighteenth century (supported by the CHE); and an analysis of the 1943/1944 New York writing workshops of the novelist Christina Stead.
Since the late ‘nineties, he has co-edited the arts-practice online refereed journal, Double Dialogues, as well as co-convened its national and international conferences. During the same period, he has contributed to such journals as Educational Philosophy & Theory, Journal of Aesthetic Education, Literature & Aesthetics, TEXT, and Philosophical Psychology as well as an extensive set of critiques since 2005 for Metapsychology. His co-edited volume, The Event, the Subject, and the Artwork: Into the Twenty-First Century was published in 2015 by Cambridge Scholars Publishing.
